Early Models -1600 F and 1000 F These models are not compatible with the current V-System (only the finders can still be used)
1600 F 1948-1953 Focal Plane shutter, the first of the Hasselblad. Format 6×6 cm (2 1/4 x 2 1/4 “). Shortest shutter-speed 1/1600
1000 F 1953-1957 Focal Plane shutter, shortest shutter-speed 1/1000 s. Replaced the 1600 F
V-System – 500   6×6 with leaf shutter, Carl Zeiss lenses
500 C 1957-1970 Leaf shutter in the lens. Shortest shutter-speed 1/500 s. Flash synchronization at all shutter-speeds. Replaced the 1000 F
500 C/M 1970-1994 Leaf shutter and Screen changeable by user (some C/Ms were still labeled 500 C)
500 Classic 1990-1992 Leaf shutter, a special 500 C/M. Only available as a kit, with 80mm lens and A12 back. From 1992 on the 500 C/M was again available as a standalone body.
501 C 1994-1997 Leaf shutter, only available as a kit, with 80mm C-Planar. Only in black.With a new shutter release button, and Acute Matte D screen (brighter finder), but did not have ‘body ready’ indicator or Transport crank not detachable
501 CM 1997-2005 Leaf shutter and Gliding Mirror System (GMS: no vignetting (Light Fall-off) of the finder image with focal lengths up to 100 mm). Available as a kit or standalone body. Black or in chrome.
V-System – 503   6×6 with TTL OTF flash system and later models also with winder connection
503 CX 1988-1994 Leaf shutter, in addition to the 500 C/M. With TTL-OTF flash system. New Palpas coating in the body reducing flare.
503 CXi 1994-1996 Leaf shutter and Winder connection.
503 CW 1996- Leaf shutter and Gliding Mirror SystemFrom 2001 to 2005 came in choice of leather colors: black, green, yellow, blue, red.
503 CWD 2006 Leaf shutter, a special 503 CW kit, with CFV digital back (16MP, 36.7×36.7 mm, Crop 1.5) 2.8/80 mm CFE lens, silver crank and screen with sensor border indicators. The 503 CWD is a limited edition (500 items), Victor Hasselblad 100th birthday.
V-System – 500 EL   6×6 with built-in film winder. Production ceased in 2006.
500 EL 1965-1970 Leaf shutter, in addition to the 500 C. Contains a built-in film winder. 500 EL where used for the NASA moon missions, but they where modified models.
500 EL/M 1970-1984 Leaf shutter, and screen changeable by user.
500 ELX 1984-1988 Leaf shutter, and TTL-OTF flash system, larger, non-vignetting mirror
553 ELX 1988-1999 Leaf shutter, AA batteries instead of proprietary batteries. New Palpas coated inside the body to reduce flare.
555 ELD 1998-2006 Leaf shutter, Electronic Data bus contacts for digital magazines, optional IR receiver,
V-System – 200 and 2000   6×6 with focal plane shutter. Production ceased in 2004.
2000 FC 1977-1982 Focal Plane shutter, shortest shutter-speed 1/2000 s.
2000 FC/M 1982-1984 Focal Plane shutter, and better shutter protection when the back is off.
2000 FCW 1984-1988 Focal Plane shutter and winder connection
2003 FCW 1988-1991 Focal Plane shutter and winder connection. New Palpas coating in the body to reduce flare.
205 TCC 1991-1994 Focal Plane shutter, TTL-OTF flash system. Built-in spot meter. Film backs with electronic coupling to the camera
201 F 1994-1998 Focal Plane shutter, TTL-OTF flash system, without exposure metering.
203 FE 1994-2004 Focal Plane shutter, built-in automatic exposure metering.
205 FCC 1995-2004 Focal Plane shutter, 205 TCC with improved electronics.
202 FA 1998-2002 Focal Plane shutter, like 203 FE, shortest shutter-speed 1/1000 s. No manual mode, no bracketing, not compatible with C-Planar and CB lenses.
V-System – Super-wide   6×6 with a fixed Carl Zeiss Biogon f/4.5 38mm lens.
SWA & SW 1954-1958 Leaf shutter “Super-wide Angle”: fixed Carl Zeiss Biogon f/4.5 38mm wide-angle lens. SW: 1956 slightly changed lens barrel construction.
SWC 1959-1979 Leaf shutter, with silver C lens, from 1969 with black C lens, from 1973 with T* Lens.
SWC/M 1980-1988 Leaf shutter, successor to the SWC. Ability to attach a Polaroid back. From 1982 with CF lens. From 1985 onwards: spirit level in new style finder, removed from body.
903 SWC 1988-2001 Leaf shutter, successor to the SWC/M. New Palpas coating in the body to reduce flare.
905 SWC 2001-2006 Leaf shutter, successor to the 903 SWC. The Biogon had to be recalculated for new environmentally friendly lens materials. Now comes as a CFi lens.

FlexBody 1995-2003 Leaf shutter, tilt and shift, bellows
ArcBody 1997-2001 Leaf shutter, tilt and shift. Special large format lenses from Rodenstock.
