I think it cost to much for what it offer more then the mark ii. Maybe it' an advantage because the price of the mark ii will get lower..
I do agree with you Alessio, it you are into creating moving images then it is a great camera, if you want to do photography only the older version should be great :)
I am sure the Mk III is a great camera but at $1000 more than the highly regarded Mk II and with all of that video tech adding to the price but tech that would not be used by still shooters (such as myself), I have a hard time making room in my budget for it.
I too will be scanning for good deals on Mk II's – new or used – or will finally buy a 10-22MM for my cropped sensor cameras.
I understand why they went so heavily in the video direction. But had they asked me, I would have urged them to build a non-video "Mk II.5" with top of the line low light capability, the 7D's AF system, a built-in (or included) 2 battery grip and a bit faster "motor drive". Sell it for the same price as the departing Mk II and there would be an iPad3-like line at the door (at least in my opinion).
My wish is that Camera makers would consider left handed photographers, we are a forgotten minority, I keep having to buy OWNUSER battery grips to get a button on the other side, If we wait a while the 5Dmk3 will drop in price, you can pick up a new 5Dmk2 for a reasonable price in UK now, and will go lower as sellers shed old stock. £2999.00 for the mk3 body, my bank manager does not like me that much so it is soldier on with my old 1D it is battered and torn but is a credit to Canon's lasting ability.

If you actually mean the D300, well that’s in a totally different class. Much better build quality (magnesium vs. plastic/aluminum), far more features, etc. And a much higher price tag to match. However I assume you meant the entry level Nikon “D3000″? This is much more comparable to the Olympus E-450. Although the Nikon still has a superior autofocus system, larger viewfinder (even if it’s among the smallest of any Nikon dSLR), and better low light performance. Nikon also has a much broader selection of lenses though not all are fully functional on the D3000.In its favor the E-450 does have “Live View” (eg. the option to compose your shots via the LCD, with some limitations). This is not something I would recommend using normally, but it can be rather useful feature when shooting from a tripod. Nikon has also equipped many of their new dSLRs with this feature, but not the D3000.

Here is some info you might like! Actually 50D doesn’t have movie mode. I kind of got the same reaction as you when I first got in touch with my 7D. But after learning its features (specially video mode) I saw how important this was, mainly to leave everything that is set to auto, locked to manual (WB, ISO, Auto lighting, etc). It’s also good to set a picture style for video, reducing contrast and sharpness, which are two basic things to make a picture look good, but doesn’t work 4 video. Thanks for the video. Good clicks!
Nikon made a profit loss of 64 liomln.. So having a large market share is pointless if you are not making money. Pentax made a small profit, with a very small market share. small advertising budget and just two Dslr’s the K-7 & K-X.. Two very different cameras.. K-7, pro build in a small size.. The entry levelK-X .. 100 colours (No need for DIY paint jobs) packed with features. It’s not how many cameras you have in the line up, its how they stand out in the market! Pumping out me too type of gear dosn’t get the consumer excited anymore. Did I just sound like a Pentax fanboy lol
Between those two cameras I would go with the Nikon, simply because it offers you much more flexibility with lenses and future upgrades if you decide to get a better camera later on. All Nikon lenses you buy now will fit any Nikon camera you buy later and there are far more of each than Olympus has to offer. I also believe that the image quality of both the camera and Nikon lenses will be much better, but that is a more subjective opinion. Now if you were comparing Nikon and Canon there would be more of a debate. You don’t need fancy equipment to be an amazing photographer, you just need an eye and a camera. even a throw away camera! Don’t get down because this guy has better camera equipment than u! You are u! And ur photography is amazing if u believe it is. My Photography is all about nature and having a good time and seeing things around my community, I have a business and I’m 15! I didn’t take no classes, I don’t edit, I don’t copy from anyone! I love photography and that is the best argument. TY
Popular Photography Magazine states that if the flash was made from 1972 to 1987 it may have treggir voltages that would fry Digital cameras.So be careful of using old flashes.The safe bet is to get a Sb flash.References Nanako
i don’t think so d3100 is a good camera, however I think they realized how unnecessary this video is! information like you need a battery to run this camera. is this guy a photographer at all! he is an employee in a photo store and self proclaimed expert without providing any important information! he is doing good for what he is!

I also believe that the image quality of both the camera and Nikon lenses will be much better, but that is a more subjective opinion. Now if you were comparing Nikon and Canon there would be more of a debate. You don’t need fancy equipment to be an amazing photographer, you just need an eye and a camera. even a throw away camera! Don’t get down because this guy has better camera equipment than u! You are u! And ur photography is amazing if u believe it is. My Photography is all about nature and having a good time and seeing things around my community, I have a business and I’m 15! I didn’t take no classes, I don’t edit, I don’t copy from anyone! I love photography and that is the best argument. TY

Popular Photography Magazine states that if the flash was made from 1972 to 1987 it may have treggir voltages that would fry Digital cameras.So be careful of using old flashes.The safe bet is to get a Sb flash.References

i don’t think so d3100 is a good camera, however I think they realized how unnecessary this video is! information like you need a battery to run this camera. is this guy a photographer at all! he is an employee in a photo store and self proclaimed expert without providing any important information! he is doing good for what he is!
